| When is open burning allowed? |
Open burning is allowed January 1st. – June 1 st. No open burning is allowed in the months of June, July, August, and September.
Open burning starts again October 1 st. continuing through December 31 st. At the beginning of the year in January a newly issued permit is necessary with the $10.00 open burning permit fee. |
| Are campfires allowed? |
Campfire permits are allowed and can be obtained at the Town Hall. Campfire permits as of this writing are valid for the entire calendar year. Campfire permits have restrictions that must be adhered to or the permit can be revoked.
Campfires mean just that, a campfire nothing larger that 3’ in diameter and burning can only take place between the hours of 6:00pm-12:00am. |

Be considerate of your neighbor’s. Check with them prior to making a pile of brush to burn, or prior to making a campfire pit. Smoke can be an irritant and if it is a nuisance to your neighbors then that can be a valid reason to have your permit revoked.
