Tree Warden

The Town of Monroe employs one part-time tree warden.

If you suspect that a tree might be owned by the Town of Monroe and appears dead or dying or has branches that may be a safety concern, please call 452-2814. Keep in mind that only trees owned by the Town of Monroe are the responsibility of the tree warden.

Private trees are the responsibility of the land/home owner to maintain. The Town of Monroe usually trims street trees once a year in the fall. The low branches are trimmed all the way around the tree to keep it’s growth uniform.
