When are payments due?
A: For fiscal 2010/2011, the first payment is due July 1,2010 and the second payment is due January 1,2011.
How can I make payments?
A: BY MAIL: If a receipt is desired, please send the entire bill and a stamped self-addressed envelope. Checks made payable to: TOWN OF MONROE.
A: IN PERSON: Please bring the entire bill to the the Collector's Office, 7 Fan Hill Road.

Does Monroe have sewers, city water, fire districts?
A: Sewers: No

What are your hours?
A: Monday through Friday, 9AM to 5PM
Summer hours (June/August), 8AM to 4PM
Saturday hours: Please call during the week 452-2804
Can the interest and/or fee be waived?
A: Interest and fees must be applied in accordance with state statutes.
What is the interest charge?
A: One and one half percent per month or part thereof. $2.00 minimum.
I did not receive my tax bill. Why must I pay the interest?
A: Failure to receive a tax bill does not invalidate the tax or interest.
When will I get the tax bill for the second payment

I sold my car. Do I still have to pay the tax?
A: If you transferred the plate to a new vehicle, yes you have to pay both halves. You will receive credit on the tax bill for the new vehicle. If you turned in the plate, you may have the bill prorated. See Assessor web page.
I moved out of state. Do I still have to pay the tax?
A: You may have the bill prorated. See Assessor web page.
I’m escrowed. Why did I receive a tax bill?
A: Your bank did not send us a "letter of authorization.”
All increased or decreased tax bills are mailed to the owner of record.
