Voter Information and Sample Ballot for 11/7/2017 Municipal Election:

The Electors of the Town of Monroe are hereby notified to meet at their respective polling places in Monroe on Tuesday, November 7, 2017, to cast their votes for the following Town Officers and Officials:

First Selectman, Town Clerk, Tax Collector, Treasurer, Councilmen,  Board of Finance, Board of Education, Planning & Zoning Commission, Planning & Zoning Commission Alternates and Constable.

The polling places are as follows:

#2           Stepney Elementary School
              180 Old Newtown Road

#3           Monroe Elementary School
               375 Monroe Turnpike

#4           Masuk High School
               1014 Monroe Turnpike

Absentee Ballots will be counted at the following central location:  Monroe Town Hall.

Optical scan voting machines will be used.  The polls will be opened at six o’clock in the morning (6:00 a.m.)  and will remain open until eight o’clock in the evening (8:00 p.m.)

Voter Registration/Absentee Ballot Requests

Absentee ballots are available Friday, October 6th for the Municipal Election to be held in Monroe on November 7, 2017.  Any qualified REGISTERED VOTER may vote by absentee if unable to vote in person at the polls during the hours of 6:00 A.M. to 8:00 P.M. Election Day.

Special hours for absentee voting will be held on Thursday, November 2nd, 8:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. and Saturday, November 4th from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Town Clerks Office.

Absentee Ballot Requests

An absentee ballot may be applied for by any qualified registered voter unable to vote due to the following reasons:

  • Illness or physical disability
  • Absence from town during all election hours
  • Religious beliefs forbidding secular activity on election day
  • Serving as an election official at a polling place other than your own
  • Active service in the Armed Forces
