 Town of Monroe - COVID-19 Update:

Until further notice, all of our daily social and physical programs, and events will be postponed or canceled. The Senior Center will remain open to provide routine assistance services. ***Please note that the biennial filing requirement for any person already receiving tax relief under the Town's Elderly or Disabled Tax Relief Programs has been suspended. 

Mission Statement

The Monroe Senior Center's purpose is to be a hub for activities and services for older persons and a visible symbol of the community's concern for its older residents. The Center's primary goal is to provide a balance of social, recreational, educational, health maintenance, home management, economic and financial programs to the senior population.


The Monroe Senior Center is designated Community Focal Point which provides seamless access to information, referrals and support to the community on aging services.

Membership Information

Membership is open to individuals age 55 and older. There is no residency restriction. Membership is renewed annually in July as our membership year is July 1 through June 30. Monroe residents are $15.00 per person and Out of Town Residents are $20.00 per person.

Hours of Operation

The Monroe Senior Center is open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
The Center may be closed for inclement weather or other emergencies. A closing message will be on the Center’s main phone number (203-452-2815); a banner headline on the Monroe Website,, under Senior Center; Channel 8 (WTNH) and Channel 3 (WFSB). When the Center is closed, there are no programs or transportation. Depending on the circumstance, the office staff may report. Senior Center closings do not follow the public school protocol.
