HUSKY Medical Insurance for Children

Provides coverage with various premiums and out-of-pocket expenses depending on household income. May provide coverage for caregivers depending on household income

CHOICES

Connecticut’s program for Health insurance assistance, Outreach, Information, Counseling, and Eligibility Screening.  The CHOICES health insurance assistance program is a cooperative program of the State of Connecticut Department of Social Services, the regional Area Agency on Aging and the Center for Medicare Advocacy, Inc.
The Town of Monroe has three trained CHOICES counselors to assist our residents with questions pertaining to Medicare A, B and D, Medicaid, Medicare Advantage Plans  and Medigap Insurance:

SAGA (State Administered General Assistance) Medical Assistance 

These programs provide medical assistance to low-income persons who do not qualify for, or who are awaiting an eligibility determination, for other state or federal programs. The program operates under regulations of the Department of Social Services. The State-Administered General Assistance (SAGA) program covers almost all services covered under the Connecticut Medicaid program with the exception of long-term care and non-emergency medical transportation. There are no categorical program requirements; eligibility is based on income and assets only. For more information click here.
