HOW TO GET HELP FROM THE FOOD PANTRY
Monroe residents who have been determined eligible by the Director of Community & Social Services, the Social Services Coordinator, the Elderly Services Coordinator, or the Food Pantry Coordinator may access food pantry services either once per month during our regular distribution times, or in an emergency if they call to make an appointment. Priority will be given to households that are having difficulty meeting their necessary living expenses and medical bills with the income available to them. Eligibility will be re-determined each year. Proof of income and expenses for household will be required.

WHEN YOU COME FOR FOOD
We will have a volunteer present to "shop" with you during your appointment. The amount of food given to each family is determined by family size and posted on each shelf.
We offer food delivery services to residents who are home bound, have transportation difficulties, are not feeling well, or are unable to use our ramp. Please call in advance if you are interested in receiving a food delivery.
- The Connecticut Food Bank requires us to request updated household and financial information from our clients once per year.
- We expect that you will also seek other department services, such as Energy Assistance.
- Information we have on file for you and your household is kept confidential within the Monroe Department of Community & Social Services.
