Donations

Donations are greatly appreciated for any of the following programs:

  • Project Warmth: The Project Warmth fund was created by the Town of Monroe to help Monroe residents bridge the gap between energy assistance programs. Donations to the Fuel Bank are received from individuals, businesses and service organizations. There has been an unprecedented amount of requests over the last two years and energy and utility assistance has become a year round need. Donations are tax-dedictible.
  • Senior Center: The Monroe Senior Center serves as a hub for activities and services for older persons and a visible symbol of the community’s concern for its older residents. The Center’s primary goal is to provide a balance of social, recreational, educational, health maintenance, home management, economic, and financial programs to the senior population.
  • Friendship Fund: The Friendship Fund's purpose is to collect donations for use in a variety of areas not covered under the umbrella of the Food Pantry, Project Warmth, or the Senior Benefit Fund. The Department of Social and Senior Services regularly uses these funds to purchase new backpacks for the Back to School Buddies program which augments the school supply donations that the Monroe Women's Club receives. The Fund is also used to purchase gifts that are needed by the Holiday Giving Tree program. If additional funds are available from this Fund, the Department distributes grants based on special circumstances, financial need, and availability of additional funding from other sources. Donations are tax-deductible.
  • Monroe Food Pantry:  The Food Pantry provides emergency food for needy individuals and families in Monroe. We distribute food once a month to people who have registered with the Monroe Department of Social Services. The Pantry provides about a week’s worth of food and other necessary items to more than 100 households per month. Donations are tax-deductible.
