TOWN OF MONROE RESIDENTS
No on-street parking
The Monroe Police and Highway Departments wish to remind all residents there is NO on-street parking during all snow emergencies. The parking ban will be in effect immediately if a snowfall results in a snow emergency. Violators will be subject to fines as well as towing expenses.
Also, please be aware that snow-blowing, shoveling, plowing or any other removal of snow or any other debris that is dumped onto the public roadway is a violation of Town By-laws and violators will be subject to fines.
Christmas Tree Pickup
The Monroe Public Works Department will start picking up Christmas trees on Monday, January 12, 2009. Trees must be at the curb by 7:00 AM. Please do not wrap trees in plastic. It takes approximately 2 - 3 weeks to complete this pickup weather permitting.
If you would like to dispose of your tree prior to that date, you can take the tree to the Garder Road Bulky Waste Site at the intersection of Garder Road & Fan Hill Road on Fridays or Saturdays between the hours of 10:00 AM and 3:00 PM free of charge.
Thank you for your cooperation.
