A Message from the First SelectmanFirst Selectman, Ken Kellogg

Founded in 1823, Monroe is an outstanding community of nearly 20,000 residents. Monroe offers award-winning schools, safe neighborhoods, beautiful parks, and growth in local business and industry. We offer the convenience of several restaurants and retail shopping while maintaining a New England, small-town charm.

5/29/2016 - Memorial Day Parade

Memorial Day Parade
Honoring Our Heroes: Past and Present

The Town of Monroe will be focusing on honoring all of our veterans during this year’s Memorial Day Parade. Specifically, we are looking for our heroes, from local and surrounding areas, to be a part of our parade. We would like to demonstrate to the crowds of people what this parade is all about. YOU – our heroes.

If you are available to march in the parade scheduled for Sunday, May 29, 2016 please contact Vida Stone in the Office of the Town Clerk. We would like for you to wear your uniforms and step out into the crowds and shake hands with the men, women and especially the children while we make our way to the green for a ceremony.

You may email at or call 203-452-2811 if you are available and interested in marching. If you know of someone who has served, please pass the information on.
