Monroe Introduces PingTown!
First Selectman Steve Vavrek announces that the Town of Monroe has joined PingTown! This cutting edge state-of-the-art technology fully integrated communication system will allow government and other Monroe based organizations to directly interface with residents.
Monroe residents can join the system and access information via apps on ios/android devices, sms, email or on their landlines.
Once fully implemented, the system will allow delivery of messages to a residence, street, radius, affinity group or the entire town. This will allow Monroe to enhance the services to the residents with communication messages such as leaf pickups, road closures, town operated facilities, school bus alerts, events and lastly as a mechanism to backup the existing critical communication systems.
This new integrated system would not only bring the community together with enhanced communication techniques and outreach, but would also allow the Town to better communicate with every resident. "Events and weather challenges the Town of Monroe has faced the last several years has demonstrated the need for our community to be able to directly communicate with all our citizens in a timely and efficient manner," stated First Selectman, Steve Vavrek.
PingTown! is a free service to all Monroe residents and non-profit organizations. The system is operational and participation by key town organizations is expected to commence shortly. To sign up, residents can call 203-567-4114 or visit http://www.monroect.org/pingtown.aspx
on the Monroe’s website. The system will authenticate your Monroe residential status before granting you full access.
